Hey everyone, I’m trying to remember a game I saw someone play online around 2013-2014. It was a PC horror FPS that came out around 2012, I think. The graphics reminded me of Source engine games, and it had a really gory vibe.
The thing that sticks out in my mind is this crazy scene after a boss fight. It showed the main character using a power drill on either a doll or a dead girl. Super gory stuff. It was like the boss fight was all in the character’s head, and then it snapped back to reality with this drill scene.
I thought it might be Cry of Fear, but I don’t remember that specific part in it. Does this ring any bells for anyone? I’m pretty sure it was an indie game, but I can’t remember much else about it.
If it helps, I think the boss fight was in some kind of floating arena in a void. The boss was moving around in the middle, and it looked really tough to beat. I’m worried it might have been some obscure Half-Life mod that’s been forgotten. Any ideas?
Nightmare House 2 rings a bell. Source mods could get pretty twisted. If not that one, maybe check out Afraid of Monsters or Cry of Fear? Those indie horror games from that era pushed boundaries with some crazy scenes.
Could be Grey. Super disturbing indie FPS from that time. Had some messed up scenes and a weird final boss. Not sure about the drill, but it’s worth checking out if you’re into that kinda horror.
Man, indie horror games from that era were something else. Nightmare House 2 comes to mind, but there were so many weird mods back then. Maybe check out some old HL2 horror mod compilations on YouTube? You might spot that drill scene in one of those.
That scene sounds familiar. Might be Nightmare House 2. It’s a Source mod from around that time with some seriously messed up moments. I remember a boss fight in a void and some disturbing stuff afterwards. Not 100% sure about the drill part, but the rest fits. If it’s not that, could be one of those obscure HL2 horror mods. There were tons back then and some got pretty wild with the gore.
