Great game but the community keeps complaining about everything

I’m 36 and have been gaming on PC for like 30 years now. Despite all the glitches and how empty the Wasteland feels sometimes, this game is actually really fun. The world looks amazing and being able to fly around for 15+ minutes without any loading breaks is incredible. This is stuff we could only dream about back in the day.

The random encounters in the Wasteland make for some epic gaming moments. I’ve had some crazy experiences like:

  • Tried to jump some guy at a crashed ship and got destroyed. Totally deserved it though.
  • Got stuck in some combat facility with two other players and we fought for like 15 minutes straight. Got tons of blueprints out of it.
  • Followed a dust storm with my buddy and found someone’s undefended outpost. We grabbed so much good stuff.

This is exactly the kind of rush I game for.

But then I go online and see everyone just trashing the game constantly. It feels like gamers today just can’t be satisfied with anything. All this live service stuff and crazy hype has made people expect way too much. We forgot how to just have fun with games.

People whine about PvP when the endgame is literally built around it. They say the world is “boring” when it’s actually realistic scale that the devs will fill out over time.

Yeah I’ve had problems too. Lost my first advanced flyer to a connection bug. Lost my second one to some weird glitch. Got killed by a hacker in the safe zone multiple times.

But so what? I’ll just farm new ones. It’s a new ambitious game so bugs happen. Cheaters exist in every game. For 50 bucks this is still worth it.

If you’re not enjoying it or the bugs are too annoying, just take a break and come back later. But stop ruining it for people who actually like exploring this world.

Sounds like you’re getting the full sandbox experience with all that PvP chaos and exploration.

People really do expect perfection at launch these days. Back in the day, broken games were just part of the experience, and we rolled with it. It sounds like the core gameplay is strong, and that’s what really matters. A few bugs shouldn’t ruin the fun.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean about exploration feeling fresh. Flying around and stumbling onto something unexpected just hits different.
