That video’s pretty cool. You can see Lucas was genuinely shocked by how immersive games were back then. Dark Forces nailed the Star Wars atmosphere perfectly. I wish more creators shared their reactions to game adaptations - we rarely get to see what they actually think when their worlds become interactive.
Would love to see more footage like this from back then. Gaming was so different in '95 and seeing creators actually experience their own stuff being turned into games must’ve been wild.
I played Dark Forces when it dropped and honestly? It felt more like real Star Wars than some of the movies that came after. Lucas was apparently pretty impressed with how they nailed the universe without leaning on Jedi stuff. Kyle Katarn was awesome too.
