Futuristic dystopian game reminds me of Morrowind - unsure if I prefer it

I’ve been playing this new game lately and it’s giving me strong Morrowind feels. But instead of the medieval fantasy setting, it’s set in a dark, futuristic world. The atmosphere is really similar, with that same sense of mystery and exploration.

The game mechanics feel familiar too, but everything’s got a high-tech twist. I’m not sure if I like it more than the original Morrowind style or not. On one hand, the sci-fi elements are cool and fresh. But part of me misses the classic fantasy vibe.

Has anyone else played both? What do you think about this futuristic take on the Morrowind-like gameplay? I’m curious to hear if others are feeling torn about it too.

I’m digging the sci-fi twist on that classic gameplay. Feels fresh but familiar at the same time. Can’t beat Morrowind’s charm though. Tough call!

Sounds like you’re talking about that new game Starfield. I’ve played it and yeah, it does have a Morrowind vibe in space. The exploration is cool, but I get what you mean about missing the fantasy elements. Personally, I dig the sci-fi setting, but it doesn’t quite capture the magic of Morrowind for me. Still a solid game though. Maybe give it some more time and see if it grows on you?

I’ve played both and I get the comparison. The sci-fi setting is definitely a cool twist, but there’s something magical about Morrowind that’s hard to replicate. I’m enjoying the futuristic elements, but I do miss stumbling across ancient ruins and battling mythical creatures. It’s like comparing apples and spaceships really. Both great in their own way.

I’ve played both and get where you’re coming from. The sci-fi setting is cool, but there’s something special about Morrowind’s fantasy world. Maybe it’s nostalgia talking, but I find myself missing the magic and creatures. Still enjoying the new game though!
