Final compilation of horror game franchises for potential inclusion

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on a project to compile a list of iconic horror games that could be included in our favorite asymmetrical horror game. This is my third attempt, and I believe it’s finally complete.

I’ve managed to highlight 66 horror titles that are not yet represented. I focused solely on true horror games, excluding titles like Fallout or Elden Ring that have horror elements but aren’t primarily horror games. If I included every action game with scary elements or horror characters from non-horror games, the list could easily reach into the hundreds or thousands!

I’d love to get some help from you all. There are a few games on my list that I haven’t played yet and plan to check out next year, so I want to avoid spoilers. Could you share your ideas on potential characters that could be killers or survivors from these titles?

Siren’s got some seriously creepy shibito that’d make perfect killers. The sightjacking mechanic would translate really well too.

York from Deadly Premonition would make a solid survivor - his FBI profiling stuff is pretty unique. But for killers, Scorn’s got some seriously messed up creature designs. Those biomechanical horrors would be perfect for an asymmetrical horror game.

Aya Brea from Parasite Eve would make an incredible survivor - her powers would be perfect for the game. And SHODAN from System Shock? She’d be absolutely terrifying as a killer.

Kuon’s got some crazy Japanese folklore monsters that’d work perfectly. The atmosphere in that game is absolutely insane and those oni designs would make killer material.

Echo Night’s got some seriously creepy ghost encounters that’d work great. Those spirits have really disturbing designs and backstories - perfect for horror.
