Dystopian TV series to binge before the next 'Squid Game' installment

Hey everyone! I’m super excited about the upcoming season of ‘Squid Game’, but it feels like it’s taking forever to come out. While we’re waiting, I thought it might be fun to watch some other dystopian TV shows. Does anyone have any good recommendations? I’m looking for something that will give me similar vibes to ‘Squid Game’ - you know, that mix of suspense, social commentary, and maybe a bit of sci-fi. What are your top picks for dystopian series that will keep me on the edge of my seat? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I’d go with ‘Alice in Borderland’ if you haven’t seen it. It’s another Netflix series from Japan with a similar vibe to Squid Game. People are forced to play deadly games in a deserted Tokyo. It’s got that same mix of survival, strategy, and social commentary. The visuals are pretty cool too. Definitely worth checking out while you wait for more Squid Game.

Westworld’s first season is mind-blowing dystopian sci-fi.

Robots in a theme park start questioning reality.

Plenty of suspense and social commentary to keep you hooked.

3% on Netflix is pretty wild. It’s set in a future Brazil where only 3% of people get to live in paradise. Lots of intense challenges and moral dilemmas. Definitely gives off Squid Game vibes.

The 100 is pretty intense. Post-apocalyptic world, tough choices, and lots of twists. Might scratch that dystopian itch while you wait for Squid Game.

Black Mirror is a great one if you haven’t seen it yet. Each episode is its own story, but they all have that creepy dystopian vibe. Some episodes get pretty intense and make you think about society and technology in weird ways.

Snowpiercer is a solid pick if you’re into dystopian stuff. It’s based on that wild movie where everyone lives on a train after the world freezes over.

The show digs deeper into the class system and how people survive. Lots of tension, cool visuals, and some messed up situations. Not exactly like Squid Game, but it’ll scratch that dystopian itch for sure.
