Hey everyone! I’m looking for some good dystopian books to read. I just finished The Hunger Games and loved it. Now I’m wondering what other dystopian stories came out after that series became popular. Are there any that you’d recommend? I’m into books with strong characters and interesting world-building. Bonus points if they have some action or adventure too! What are your favorites from the last few years? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Scythe by Neal Shusterman is awesome.
Imagine a world where death is basically gone.
But some people have to ‘glean’ others to control population.
It’s wild and thought-provoking.
If you dig The Hunger Games, you might wanna check out Red Rising by Pierce Brown. It’s got that dystopian feel but takes it to space. Crazy world-building, tons of action, and characters you’ll get hooked on. It’s been my go-to recommendation for anyone looking for a Hunger Games fix. The first book came out in 2014 and there’s a whole series now.
Yo, if you dug The Hunger Games, you gotta try The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey. It’s this wild alien invasion story that’ll mess with your head. Came out in 2013 and it’s got that dystopian vibe with a sci-fi twist. The main character is a total badass, and the way the world falls apart is freaky but cool. It’s got action, survival, and some crazy plot twists. Definitely worth checking out.
The Maze Runner is pretty solid if you’re into dystopian stuff. It’s got some cool survival elements and mystery. The whole series is a wild ride with some unexpected twists. Definitely kept me hooked.
Divergent series is pretty good.
Lots of action and cool world-building.
Similar vibe to Hunger Games but its own thing too.
Divergent’s cool, but have you tried The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon? It’s got this wild mix of dystopia and supernatural stuff. Came out after Hunger Games and has some awesome world-building. The main character’s pretty badass too.
