Does anyone else lose motivation for a game after completing the main storyline?

I mean games that feature open worlds with additional content to explore, not those that are completely linear.

I dedicated around 150 hours to playing Cyberpunk 2077 before I achieved the main story ending. Now that I’ve finished, I can’t seem to summon the enthusiasm to play again, even though there are still many activities I haven’t tackled yet.

It’s strange because I genuinely liked the game. But when there’s no clear goal to drive my playtime, I start to lose interest. Is this a common feeling, or just me?

Same here - once I see those credits, I’m out. Even if the game was amazing, I just lose interest. Without the main story pushing me forward, all the side stuff feels pointless. Why collect random junk when I’ve already beaten the game? The world just feels dead after you’ve saved it.

Totally feel you on that. It’s tough to keep the same excitement after the main story wraps up.

Yeah, same here. The main quest drives everything forward and makes it feel urgent. Without it, side quests just feel hollow even when they’re actually pretty good.

Same here with most RPGs. Side quests just feel like busywork after you’ve dealt with the main threat.
