Does anyone else feel less connected to Pokemon after they replaced the main character?

So ever since they got rid of the original main character from the anime, I just can’t get into Pokemon like I used to. Everything feels way different now and not in a good way. The newer games like Scarlet and Violet don’t really reference the older stuff much which makes it feel like they’re just ignoring their own history.

What I really miss is how each new region used to feel special and unique. Now they all just seem like generic locations without much personality. Back when we had the same protagonist going through different areas, you could really see how each place was different from the last one.

I tried watching the new anime series but I just don’t care about these new characters. There’s nobody I recognize anymore except for some Pokemon. It’s hard to get invested when everything familiar is gone.

These days I only really play the competitive online battles but even that doesn’t feel like enough. Anyone else going through this or is it just me being too attached to the old stuff?

I feel that too. The older games had a charm that really made each region memorable.

I hear you on that. The battles can be fun, but the worlds used to feel so much more alive. It’s like they lost some of that charm with the new characters and regions.

I totally get where you’re coming from. The older games had a unique vibe that made each region feel alive and special. Hoenn was vibrant and full of life, while Sinnoh had that cozy atmosphere. Now, it feels like they’re just mixing everything together without any real soul. Losing Ash and having new characters just doesn’t hit the same. It’s tough to connect when everything familiar is gone.
