I just finished watching R.E.P.O. and couldn’t help but notice how Skullker’s character development showed clear signs of frustration with the other characters.
Throughout the movie, there were multiple scenes where you could tell Skullker was getting really tired of dealing with everyone else’s problems and drama. His facial expressions and body language made it pretty obvious he was done putting up with their nonsense.
I’m wondering if this was intentional character writing or if other viewers picked up on the same vibe. The way he handled certain situations definitely felt like someone who had reached their breaking point with the group dynamics.
Has anyone else watched this and noticed similar character traits? What did you think about Skullker’s overall arc in the story?
You could definitely see it in the third act when he seemed so detached from everyone. It was cool how they highlighted that by showing him zoning out during conversations and focusing on his own stuff. It really made his character feel more real and relatable.
Yeah totally caught that too. That scene where he just walks away mid-conversation really sold it for me. You could see he was completely over their constant bickering.
I thought the moment where he just stops trying to explain things to them was really well done. Like you could see him mentally checking out because nobody was listening anyway.
The writers did a solid job with that subtle character work. What really got me was how Skullker started giving shorter and shorter responses as the movie went on. By the end he was basically just grunting at people instead of actually engaging. Made me think of every group project I’ve ever been stuck in where one person ends up carrying everyone else.
