Custom card drinking game with bluffing mechanics

Bluff Shot Challenge

My buddies and I created this awesome drinking game that mixes card bluffing with shots. Here’s how we play it.

Setup:

  • Prepare 3 shots per round: 1 with alcohol, 2 with water
  • Players mix each other’s shots so only the mixer knows which is which
  • Create a deck with 6 Kings, 6 Queens, 6 Aces, and 2 Jokers
  • Draw one card randomly to set the target (what players must claim to play)
  • Deal 5 cards to each player

Basic Play:
Players take turns placing cards face down and declaring how many of the target card they played (like “3 Kings”). Next player either adds more cards or calls “Bluff”.

When bluff is called, reveal all cards. If the claims were honest, the challenger drinks a shot. If lies were caught, the liar drinks. Getting alcohol means you’re eliminated.

Special Variants:

Devil Mode: Add 10 of Diamonds as wild card. If someone challenges it, everyone except the player drinks.

Mayhem Version: Use 5 Kings, 5 Queens, 1 Master card (2 of Clubs), 1 Chaos card (2 of Hearts). Only 3 cards per player, 1 card per turn. Correct challenges let you pick who drinks. Special cards have unique punishment rules.

This is brilliant. The shot roulette twist changes everything - you can’t just take the penalty and keep going. Every bluff call gets way more intense when you’re facing elimination. Definitely using this at my next game night.

Mayhem version sounds crazy with those punishment rules. Only 3 cards means every move matters way more than regular bluffing games.

When the mixer knows which shots are which, it totally changes the mind games. Makes every round way more intense.

Love this twist on bluffing games. Shot elimination actually has stakes - way better than just chugging beer. Devil mode with wild cards sounds like pure chaos, which is perfect.

The elimination mechanic is genius. Most drinking games just keep adding drinks, but this one creates real tension - one wrong call and you’re out. Having someone else mix your shots adds uncertainty that keeps everyone honest.
