Controller issues with Chained Together local co-op - is anyone else experiencing problems?

Hey everyone! I picked up this game mainly for couch co-op with friends but we’re having major problems with our gamepads.

We’re using 3 wireless Xbox 360 controllers and tried toggling Steam Input on and off but keep running into these issues:

  • Navigation through menus only works with keyboard and mouse
  • When accessing the pause menu during gameplay the cursor disappears most of the time
  • The biggest problem is that certain controls like the jump button randomly become unresponsive especially for the second and third players

The game is basically broken for local multiplayer right now. Has anyone else encountered these controller problems? Did you find any workarounds or fixes?

I disabled Steam Input completely and just used the Xbox controller drivers directly. Still janky but at least all the buttons work most of the time.

Same issue here. Controller support’s pretty broken right now. Try launching through Big Picture mode instead of regular Steam - that’s what fixed it for me. Buttons stay responsive during gameplay, but menu navigation’s still wonky.

Yeah this game’s controller support is broken. Same issues here - I set one controller as player 1 in Steam’s settings first, then let the game find the rest. That jump button bug is annoying as hell, happens every time I’ve got more than two controllers plugged in.

Controller issues suck. Same thing happened with my PS4 controllers - they’d just randomly stop working. Ended up getting a refund until they fix the co-op problems.

Same issue here last week. Unplug all your controllers, then reconnect them one at a time while the game’s still running. Fixed the jump button problem for me.

Try wired controllers instead of wireless - fixed the input lag for me

Mixed controller brands can cause conflicts too - ran into the same issues when I used different types together.
