My partner and I recently beat Split Fiction along with ITT and we absolutely loved both games. The cooperative storytelling and unique gameplay mechanics really clicked with us. We understand these are considered some of the best in their genre, but we’re hungry for more.
We’re specifically looking for PlayStation 5 games that offer local co-op experiences with similar vibes. The blend of narrative depth and cooperative puzzle solving really appeals to us. Any suggestions for games that might give us that same feeling of working together through an engaging story?
A Way Out sounds perfect for you. Two guys breaking out of prison - can’t even play it solo. The story gets intense and the co-op moments really matter. Portal 2’s co-op campaign is amazing if you haven’t tried it. Solving puzzles with a partner feels incredible, and GLaDOS is hilarious. Both games nail that feeling of actually accomplishing something together.
Haven’s perfect if you’re looking for something chill. You’re a couple exploring together, and your choices actually matter for the relationship. The co-op just feels right.
Check out Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. You’re both running around this neon spaceship manning different stations - gets pretty hectic but in a good way.
Unravel Two is criminally underrated for couch co-op. You’re both yarn creatures solving puzzles and it flows beautifully. Also check out Moving Out if you want something lighter - it’s like Overcooked but you’re terrible movers instead of chefs. Way more forgiving though.
