Can we talk about which Dark Souls game has the most stunning visuals?

I’ve been playing through the Dark Souls series again and I’m really blown away by how different each game looks. The art direction and graphics quality varies so much between them. I keep thinking about which one actually has the best visual design overall.

Some have amazing lighting effects while others have incredible architecture and world building. The character models and animations also seem to get better with each release. What do you think makes one stand out more than the others when it comes to pure visual appeal?

I’m curious to hear what other players think about the visual presentation across the series. Which entry do you feel has the most impressive graphics and why?

I’d say Dark Souls 1 has a unique charm. The atmosphere and environments really draw you in.

Bloodborne might not be Dark Souls but that gothic Victorian aesthetic is just chef’s kiss

Dark Souls 2 gets overlooked but some of those environments are gorgeous. The view from Majula looking out over the ocean always gets me.

Dark Souls 3 takes it for me. The lighting engine they used really makes everything pop, especially in areas like Irithyll. That place genuinely made me stop and stare the first time I saw it. Plus the boss designs are insane - Sister Friede and the Nameless King look incredible during their fights.
