Can I play Split Fiction on original Xbox One console?

Hello everyone! I’m pretty new to gaming and mostly use my husband’s Xbox One system. I noticed that Split Fiction shows “Play With Xbox Series X|S” in its description. Does this mean I won’t be able to run Split Fiction on the original Xbox One?

I did some research and found out that Xbox One is different from Series X and Series S models, and apparently the Xbox One has been discontinued. This makes me worried that we might need to buy a newer console just to play this game.

Another question I have is about Game Pass. If Split Fiction gets added to Game Pass later, would that make it playable on Xbox One somehow? Or would we still need the newer hardware?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Yeah, Split Fiction only works on Xbox Series X/S. Your original Xbox One can’t run it - Game Pass won’t change that since it’s a hardware thing. The jump from Xbox One to Series X/S was huge, so lots of new games are ditching the older consoles.

Yeah, Split Fiction is Xbox Series X/S only. You’ll need to upgrade your console to play it.

Nope, Split Fiction needs the newer hardware. The Series consoles have way better specs that developers need for games like this.

Yeah, you can’t play Split Fiction on the original Xbox One. You’ll need to upgrade to the Series X or S to enjoy it.

You’re right, Split Fiction is for the newer consoles only. Unfortunately, the original Xbox One just can’t run it, not even with Game Pass.

You might want to drop some hints about getting a Series S for your birthday. It’s a great upgrade for new games.

Yeah, you’re out of luck here. Split Fiction only runs on the newer consoles - Xbox One can’t handle it at all. But the Series S is way cheaper than the Series X if you want to upgrade. I’d go for it anyway since tons of games are dropping Xbox One support now.
