Call of Duty: Restore Its Military Roots

I miss when COD had a strong military feel like MW2019. Now it feels too flashy. Can we bring back realistic, grounded skins?

I totally get where you’re coming from. I really loved the feel of MW2019 where everything felt built for a real military setting. The modern entries feel so loaded with effects that it kinda takes you out of the battle experience. It would be cool to see a game mode or even a separate series that leans more into that gritty realism. I don’t know if they’ll ever be able to blend the modern specs with a true military vibe, but I think a return to grounded skins, gear and environments would definitely catch my eye again.

The old military vibe really changed the tone. A shift back to simple, authentic looks would bring more tension than the usual flashy style.

I’ve always dug that military authenticity in COD. There’s something about the raw, no-frills approach of MW2019 that makes you feel like you’re part of a real operation instead of a flashy arcade shooter. Sure, the modern setups look cool and all, but sometimes you miss the grit that made every match feel like a true battle. I’d love to see a mode where you can dial down the effects and really focus on realistic gear and skin customization. It just gives that grounded vibe that makes you feel like you’re really in the thick of it, not just playing a highlights reel.

I’ve been feeling the same way for a while. There’s something about the older titles that really made you feel like you were in the middle of a real military operation rather than just a run-and-gun spectacle. It might just be the subtle details in the gear and the understated environments that kept things grounded. I really think there’s potential in reintroducing a mode where everything feels more tactical and less over-the-top. The balance is tricky, but even a dedicated mode could give players that throwback experience without ditching the modern advancements everyone enjoys.
