Best retro PlayStation 1 inspired horror game recommendations?

I’m really into those old school PS1 era horror games with the chunky polygons and creepy atmosphere. You know the kind I mean - they have that distinctive low-poly art style and grainy textures that somehow makes everything more terrifying. I’ve played through most of the popular ones but I’m hungry for more hidden gems. Does anyone know some lesser-known indie titles that capture that classic 90s horror vibe? I’m particularly interested in games that nail the authentic retro aesthetic with the pixelated graphics and that eerie sound design. Even if they’re made by small developers or are still in development, I’d appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance for helping me discover my next nightmare fuel!

Bloodwash nails that grimy PS1 horror vibe, especially if you’re into psychological scares over monster stuff.

World of Horror nails that chunky pixel aesthetic with some really twisted imagery

Lost in Vivo is exactly what you want. Perfect PS1 jank with low-poly models, grainy textures, and genuinely unsettling sound design. The dev nailed that authentic retro feel without making it feel like a cheap knockoff. Also, check out The House in the Hollow; it’s still pretty underground but captures that classic survival horror vibe perfectly.

Puppet Combo games are perfect for this - Murder House and Nun Massacre especially.

Dredge nails that PS1 aesthetic but throws cosmic horror into the mix - all happening out on the water. The atmosphere is incredible.
