It seems we might have given The Railroad too much praise. The situation where their main base is uncovered simply because some traders accepted bribes from the Institute appears to be poor storytelling. You would expect a secretive resistance group to be more vigilant about sharing confidential details. This really makes them seem inexperienced. It’s surprising how easily the Institute found them; they just needed to toss some caps and the location was out in the open. It raises questions about the Railroad’s real effectiveness compared to what the game suggested.
That makes total sense. The Railroad has always been more about heart than stealth, just regular folks trying to help synths. It’s realistic that informants can leak info, and not every group would have perfect security. This makes their story a lot more believable.
Yeah the whole thing felt rushed honestly. Like they needed a quick way to move the plot forward so they just had some random traders sell them out. Could’ve been way more interesting.
Totally agree, it was a weak plot twist that undermined the Railroad’s whole mission.
Classic Bethesda writing tbh. They build up this secretive organization then blow their cover with the most basic spy stuff.
