I’ve been thinking about the survival horror genre lately. It seems like the big-name games aren’t doing so well in terms of sales. Resident Evil is the only one that’s really thriving right now.
I’m curious about what you guys think about the upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake. Do you reckon it’ll do better than other recent survival horror titles? Maybe it’ll bring back some interest to the genre?
What’s your take on why these games aren’t selling as well as they used to? Is it because people’s tastes have changed, or is there something about the games themselves that isn’t clicking with players anymore?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Do you think Silent Hill 2 Remake has a shot at success, or will it face the same challenges as other survival horror games?
Survival horror’s definitely changed over the years. RE’s success comes from evolving with the times while keeping its horror roots. SH2 Remake could hit big if it balances old-school scares with modern gameplay.
Thing is, horror games are pretty niche. They’re not for everyone. But when done right, they can still pull in a solid fanbase. It’ll be interesting to see how SH2 does.
I think it’s more about quality than genre. RE nails the mix of scares and gameplay. SH2 Remake could work if it keeps what made the original great. But nostalgia alone won’t cut it.
Silent Hill 2 Remake could be a game-changer. The original was iconic, so if they nail the atmosphere and modernize the gameplay, it might revive interest in survival horror. But it’s tough to say for sure. Horror games can be hit or miss these days.
Silent Hill 2 was a classic. If the remake captures that creepy vibe, it could do well. But survival horror is kinda niche now. Maybe people prefer action horror or multiplayer stuff these days. It’ll be interesting to see how it turns out.
