Anyone remember the wild 1989-1990 RollerGames show?

Hey guys! I’ve been thinking about this crazy TV show from back in the day. It was called RollerGames and it aired for just one season in 1989-1990. Did anyone else watch this?

It was like a mix of roller derby, WWE wrestling, and that movie The Running Man. The whole thing had this over-the-top dystopian vibe that was so cool. They had these wild teams with names like the Violators and the Hot Flash, and the announcers were always yelling about stuff.

I remember loving it as a kid, but now I’m wondering if it was all staged or if any of it was real. Does anyone know more about how they made it? Or have any favorite memories from watching? I’d love to hear what other people thought about this bonkers show!

That show was nuts! The Wall of Death gave me nightmares.

Staged or not, it was pure entertainment gold.

Makes me wish we had more wacky sports shows like that nowadays.

Wow, RollerGames sounds wild! Never saw it myself but reminds me of some of the crazy game shows Japan puts out. Mixing sports with that over-the-top style is always fun to watch. Bet it’d be a hit if they brought it back today.

Oh man, RollerGames! That show was wild. The alligator pit and the Wall of Death were insane. Pretty sure it was mostly staged, but still awesome to watch.

RollerGames was totally bonkers! I vaguely remember catching it as a kid and being mesmerized by the chaos. The whole thing felt like a fever dream with the crazy team names and over-the-top stunts. I’m pretty sure it was mostly staged, but that didn’t make it any less entertaining. It was like roller derby cranked up to 11 with a healthy dose of 80s neon aesthetic thrown in.
