After finishing Baldur's Gate 3 with friends, nothing else feels the same - need recommendations

Just completed a multiplayer playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3 with my gaming crew and honestly nothing compares now. The experience was incredible - deep story choices, tactical combat, amazing character interactions. We spent months getting lost in this world together.

Before BG3 we mostly played competitive shooters like Valorant and Apex Legends, plus some co-op survival titles. But this was totally different. The slower pace, meaningful decisions, and collaborative storytelling created something special we never experienced before.

Now we’re stuck. Everything else feels shallow or too fast. We’re looking for our next group adventure on Xbox that captures even a fraction of what made BG3 magical.

Anyone else go through this post-BG3 gaming crisis? What did you and your friends move on to? Looking for anything with good co-op story elements, strategic gameplay, or just that sense of shared adventure. Genre doesn’t matter as much as that feeling of experiencing something meaningful together.

Really hoping someone has found something that scratched the same itch. Thanks for any suggestions.

Sea of Thieves sounds like a weird jump from BG3, but hear me out. The shared adventures and stories you create together are incredible - just more emergent than scripted.

I totally get this feeling. After BG3 you realize how rare games like that are. Since you’re on Xbox, definitely check out Wasteland 3 if you haven’t already. It’s got tactical turn-based combat and your choices actually matter. The writing’s solid and co-op works really well. Not quite BG3 level but it’ll help with the withdrawal.

Try Divinity Original Sin 2 - it’s basically BG3’s older sibling with deep RPG vibes.
