Why wasn't Loong peak unlocked at launch instead of being gated?

It feels like we’re seeing the classic battle between developers trying to maximize revenue and players who will explore every possible workaround or exploit to access content early. The whole situation with Loong peak being locked behind progression or paywalls seems unnecessary when they could have just made it available from day one. This creates friction between what the company wants monetarily and what the community actually desires in terms of gameplay access. Has anyone else noticed this pattern in recent game releases where content that should be baseline gets artificially restricted? It’s becoming more common and honestly pretty frustrating for players who just want to enjoy the full experience without jumping through hoops or opening their wallets.

Yeah it’s annoying when they lock areas like that. They’re probably drip feeding content to keep people hooked instead of letting everyone burn through it in the first week.

Maybe they wanted to test server stability before opening everything up at once

It’s the whole ‘games as a service’ approach. They’d rather drip-feed content over months than give us everything upfront. Makes business sense for them, but sucks for those of us who want to explore everything immediately.
