I purchased Lethal Company during the holiday season when it was at version 60. I recently learned about an enemy known as the kidnapper fox and another thing called vain shrouds that were in earlier versions. I’m really interested in knowing what these enemies were like and why the developers chose to remove them from the game. Were they too powerful, or did they create technical problems? I’ve tried looking for information but haven’t found much about why they were removed. Did anyone here experience those earlier versions and know what those creatures did? I’m just looking to understand the game’s history better and what I may have missed.
The kidnapper fox was really frustrating. It would just snatch you up without warning and ruin the game’s pace. Who wants to just vanish like that? The vain shrouds were these glitchy ghost enemies that didn’t fit well with the rest of the game. Seems reasonable they removed both to improve the experience.
The kidnapper fox was super frustrating. It would just grab you out of nowhere, which felt unfair. I guess they removed it to make the game more enjoyable.
I kinda miss the kidnapper fox. Yeah, it was annoying, but it kept you on edge differently than other monsters. The issue was how random it felt - no real way to counter it. Bracken and coil heads? You can learn their patterns and work around them.
Yeah, both were awful. Fox was a one-shot kill and shrouds tanked the framerate. Good call removing them.
Never played the early versions but sounds like those enemies were poorly balanced. Makes sense the devs would cut content that wasn’t working right.
