I just wrapped up this fantastic quest, and the ending blew me away. For a long time, I couldn’t see why some players liked watching cutscenes in TV mode instead of skipping them. I always thought it felt tedious. But now, after this quest, I really understand it. The way the story unfolded leading up to that last moment was simply perfect. The visuals, music, and dialogues all merged beautifully, and I found myself wanting to experience it again. It’s making me think I might have overlooked some great moments by rushing through cutscenes. Has anyone experienced a similar change in perspective after a specific quest or storyline?
Ha, one good quest really can change everything. I skipped dialogue for years - just wanted the action. Then I hit this amazing storyline and felt terrible for missing all that previous content. Now I’m the guy who watches every cutscene, even the dull ones, just in case.
I totally get that. I used to skip cutscenes myself until I played The Last of Us. That game’s storytelling completely changed my mind and made me realize how much the cinematics add to the whole experience. Now I actually slow down and watch everything, especially in story-heavy games.
Yeah cutscenes really hit different when the writing is solid. Some games just nail that cinematic feel and make you want to soak it all in.
Same thing happened to me with Witcher 3’s Baron questline. Made me realize cutscenes aren’t just filler.
