Why does nobody talk about how amazing Alone in the Dark (2024) is for survival horror fans?

I just finished playing this game and I’m blown away by how little attention it gets.

Seriously, I keep seeing people complain about the lack of good survival horror games these days, but then everyone seems to ignore this masterpiece. The atmosphere is incredible, the story actually makes sense, and the puzzles feel challenging without being annoying.

I’ve been playing horror games for years and this one genuinely scared me in ways that other recent releases couldn’t. The sound design alone kept me on edge the entire time. Yet when I look online, barely anyone is discussing it.

Am I the only one who thinks this game deserves way more recognition? What did you all think if you played it? Maybe I’m missing something but I honestly believe this is one of the best entries in the genre we’ve gotten recently.

This has that classic survival horror vibe that just gets under your skin. It’s really refreshing to see a game capture that tension again.

Totally agree, the timing really hurt its visibility with so many big titles dropping around the same time. It’s a shame because this game has that classic survival horror feel but updated for today. I picked it up on sale too and found it really refreshing. It feels like a love letter to the genre.

Marketing missed the mark for sure. It’s a shame this gem got buried among all the bigger releases.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Dropped right when everyone was distracted by other big releases. Haven’t played it yet but heard good things.

I picked it up recently and it’s surprisingly good. The creepy vibes in the mansion and those monster designs really nailed the horror feel. Too bad it’s getting overshadowed by bigger titles this year.
