Why does everyone keep hating on this game

Look, I understand that the game has its flaws, but I’m not going to let a few minor issues ruin my overall enjoyment.

Like I’ve said before, the driving mechanics are fantastic.

The storyline is solid, which is what you’d anticipate from this franchise, so it’s definitely a game worth playing.

The shooting mechanics are done really well, and honestly, they surpass the previous entries in the series and are much better than Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto V.

What makes it superior? When playing Red Dead 2, you don’t really feel the weight or impact of your weapon when shooting.

In Red Dead and GTA, it feels as if you’re using toy guns, but this new Mafia game provides realistic feedback, which makes me feel much more involved during gunfights. I’m sure other games likely offer even better shooting mechanics, but I can’t speak on those since I haven’t played them.

Overall, nobody – including me – should be comparing this Mafia game to titles from completely different franchises.

I’m not trying to be stubborn here either. The game certainly has issues that affect the experience, but when you consider that this isn’t just another generic release from major studios and that it manages to achieve what the Mafia series aims for, there’s not much to complain about.

People hyped themselves up too much. Mafia was never about being some massive AAA spectacle - it’s always been about solid crime stories with good enough gameplay. Sounds like this one nails that. The internet just loves shitting on games that aren’t flawless.

I think the hype got out of hand. The gunplay is definitely solid and feels better than a lot of other open-world titles out there.

Maybe because people expected GTA but got actual Mafia instead
