I’ve been playing Helldivers a lot lately and I’m starting to feel frustrated. It seems like we players have to deal with so many restrictions while the enemies can do whatever they want.
For example:
We have to watch our ammo and reload carefully
The map affects our movement and actions
Our weapons behave realistically (like flamethrowers bouncing off armor)
Placing equipment has lots of rules (can’t put turrets on hills, etc.)
But the bad guys?
Infinite ammo, no reloading
Can shoot through walls sometimes
Spawn wherever they want, even right on top of us
Ignore things like ragdoll physics
It just doesn’t seem fair. I get that it’s for game balance, but it makes it feel like we’re not even playing the same game as the enemies.
Anyone else feel this way? Do you think the devs should either make it more “realistic” for everyone, or just drop the sim aspects altogether?
I get the frustration, but those limits are what make Helldivers intense. It’s all about working with your squad to overcome crazy odds. Sure, some tweaks could help. But honestly, I dig how it forces you to get creative and really earn those wins.
Yeah, I get where you’re coming from. The restrictions can be frustrating at times. But for me, that’s what makes it so satisfying when you pull off a successful mission.
It’s like those old-school games where you had to really master the mechanics to win. The challenge is part of the fun.
That said, I wouldn’t mind if they tweaked a few things to make it feel a bit more balanced.
Helldivers can be frustrating with strict rules, but that’s the charm for me. It pushes us to team up and overcome crazy challenges. A few small tweaks might be cool but the tough feel is the reward.
