Which Dark Souls 2 Boss Do You Think Is The Most Frustrating?

I’m curious about everyone’s thoughts on the most annoying boss fights in DS2. Personally, I think the Royal Rat Authority takes the top spot for being absolutely terrible. Those tiny rats that spawn with the main boss are incredibly frustrating to deal with. They’re nearly impossible to hit properly with most weapons, and if you’re not paying attention they can basically one-shot you.

Another boss that really gets on my nerves is the Duke’s Dear Freja. The spider adds that keep appearing during the fight are so irritating, especially when you’re trying to clear them out before focusing on the main boss. Then Freja starts firing that beam attack right when you’re in a bad position. The whole fight feels repetitive too - you just wait for the laser, run to the back head, attack, and repeat. Then more spiders show up halfway through.

The Ancient Dragon deserves a mention but at least you can use some tricks to make that fight easier. What are your thoughts on the worst boss encounters in the game?

The Shrine of Amana bosses were pretty awful but honestly the Bed of Chaos wannabe fights like Covetous Demon just feel lazy. At least Royal Rat Authority has some challenge to it. For me it’s gotta be the Ruin Sentinels though. Three identical bosses that can stunlock you into oblivion if you mess up the positioning even slightly. The camera gets all wonky when you’re trying to fight multiple targets and you can barely see what’s happening half the time.

Honestly surprised nobody mentioned the Capra Demon yet. Wait no, that’s DS1. For DS2 I’d go with the Frigid Outskirts boss run to Lud and Zallen. Those invisible reindeer in the blizzard make you want to throw your controller through the window before you even reach the actual fight. Then when you finally get there it’s basically just a reskinned Aava fight but now there’s two of them.

Blue Smelter Demon is the worst with that long run back through Iron Passage every time you die.

Vendrick without giant souls is just pure masochism with that insane defense multiplier

Belfry Gargoyles was pure pain for me. Fighting like six gargoyles at once while they’re all breathing fire everywhere just felt completely unfair.
