I’m having trouble locating the configuration file that lets me change the language settings in my copy of Overcooked 2. The game is currently displaying everything in Russian and I can’t understand any of the menus or text. I tried using translation apps on my phone to scan the screen and look for language options in the game settings, but I couldn’t find anything like that in the menus. I remember reading somewhere that there should be a config file that controls the language settings, but I’ve searched through the game folder and can’t seem to find it. Has anyone else dealt with this issue before? I really want to play the game but the language barrier is making it impossible to navigate properly.
Just go to Overcooked 2 in your Steam library, right-click it, select properties, and you can change the language there. It’s way simpler than messing with config files.

If Steam’s language settings aren’t working, check the AppData/LocalLow/Team17/Overcooked2 folder on Windows.
I had the same issue after getting the game from a key reseller and ending up with Russian. Steam’s language settings might not work if it’s region-locked. I managed to find the config.ini file in the game folder and changed the language from “ru” to “en”. That solved it for me. If that doesn’t help, check the AppData folder as well. Just ensure your copy isn’t region-locked first.
I’ve been there too. Check your Documents folder under Team17/Overcooked2 for a settings or config file. If that doesn’t work, try verifying game files on Steam - sometimes the language gets locked to your region when you first install.
