So after playing through Origins and DA2, I finally got around to DAI and wanted to share my thoughts. Curious what everyone else thinks too.
What I loved: The companion interactions are absolutely incredible. Like seriously, the way party members talk to each other and form their own bonds feels so real. You can actually see Sera and Dorian becoming friends, or watch romantic tension build between characters that has nothing to do with your Inquisitor. It makes the whole game world feel alive instead of everything just revolving around the main character. Best companion dynamics in any Dragon Age game by far.
What drove me crazy: Those huge empty maps with endless fetch quests everywhere. I usually love open world RPGs and can spend forever doing side content, but this felt different. All the collection stuff and random tasks in each zone became such a boring grind that I’d zone out doing them. Then when I finally got back to important story missions it felt jarring. Really wish they had stuck with smaller, more focused areas like the previous games.
