Split Fiction Developer Discusses Game Length and Monetization Strategy Versus It Takes Two

Has anyone seen the recent comments from the Split Fiction team about their upcoming game? The developers mentioned that players can expect around 12 to 14 hours of main story content, which seems similar to their previous title It Takes Two. What really caught my attention was their strong stance against adding any paid DLC or extra purchases after launch. They emphasized focusing purely on creating solid gaming experiences without additional monetization schemes. I’m curious what everyone thinks about this approach in today’s gaming market. Do you prefer when studios stick to this philosophy, or do you think optional content purchases can sometimes add value? Would love to hear different perspectives on how this compares to other co-op adventure games currently available.

Mad respect for developers who actually stick to this. The industry’s obsessed with milking players through season passes and microtransactions. When a studio just ships a complete game and says we’re done, it’s refreshing as hell. It Takes Two was solid from start to finish - no extras needed. If they can do that again with Split Fiction, I’m in.

Split Fiction looks promising. That length’s perfect for co-op since you need someone else to commit the time with you. Love that there’s no DLC - that’s refreshing nowadays.

I think 12-14 hours is just right for a co-op game. Keeps it fun without dragging on too long.

I loved It Takes Two too, so I’m all for this approach. A full game with no extra costs sounds awesome.
