Seeking new horror game recommendations based on my limited experience

Hey everyone! I’m a big fan of horror games but I’ve only played the really popular ones so far. I’m looking to branch out and try some new titles. Can you guys suggest some good horror games that I might have missed?

I’ve played stuff like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Amnesia. I love the feeling of being scared and the intense atmosphere in these games. But now I want to explore some lesser-known gems in the horror genre.

What are your top picks for horror games that aren’t as mainstream? I’m open to different styles - survival horror, psychological horror, or even indie games with unique concepts. Any recommendations would be awesome!

Little Nightmares is a hidden gem. It’s not your typical horror game, but man, the atmosphere is creepy as hell. You play as this tiny kid in a huge, twisted world. The visuals are really unsettling and it’s got some really tense moments. Definitely worth checking out if you want something different.

Outlast is a good one if you haven’t tried it.

Intense first-person horror in a creepy asylum.

The night vision camera mechanic adds to the terror.

SOMA is a mind-bending sci-fi horror game.

It’s got a creepy underwater setting and explores some deep philosophical themes.

Definitely worth playing if you want something that’ll make you think while scaring you.

Darkwood’s pretty intense if you’re into top-down survival horror. The atmosphere is super unsettling and it’s got some unique mechanics. Doesn’t rely on jump scares but still manages to be terrifying.

Layers of Fear is pretty underrated. It’s a psychological horror that really messes with your head. The atmosphere is super creepy and you never know what to expect around each corner. Definitely worth checking out if you want something different.
