Seeking feedback on my dark strategy game inspired by Cold War and human nature

Hey everyone,

I’m working on a strategy game that’s pretty heavy on themes. It’s a mix of mining management and dystopian elements, set against a Cold War backdrop. The game explores some dark stuff like human extinction, greed, and how people can lose their minds.

I’m drawing inspiration from H.R. Giger’s art style to create a really unsettling atmosphere. As a Russian dev, I guess my own experiences and mood are seeping into the game too.

I’m curious what you all think about this concept. Is it too dark? Do you think there’s an audience for something like this? Any ideas on how to balance the heavy themes with engaging gameplay?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Sounds intense! Dark strategy games can be super engaging. Balancing heavy themes with solid gameplay mechanics is key. Maybe add some dark humor to lighten things up a bit?

Sounds like a deep concept. Dark themes can work if the gameplay hooks players. Maybe add some lighter moments for contrast? Could help balance the heavy stuff.

That concept sounds wicked intriguing. Cold War vibes mixed with mining and dystopian elements could make for a really unique experience. The H.R. Giger-inspired visuals should set a killer atmosphere too. I’d say go all in on the dark themes. Plenty of gamers out there crave that kind of intense, thought-provoking stuff. Just make sure the core gameplay loop is solid and you’ll find your audience for sure.

That sounds like a really cool concept. I love strategy games that dive into deeper themes. The Cold War setting mixed with dystopian vibes could make for some intense gameplay. As long as the core mechanics are solid, I think there’s definitely an audience for darker, more cerebral strategy games.
