Hey everyone! I’m trying to track down a weird song from this freaky indie game I played a while back. It was one of those 3D walking sim horrors, super trippy stuff.
The song’s stuck in my head but I can’t remember much. It had this country vibe with guitar, but the vocals were all messed up like a glitchy text-to-speech thing. The lyrics were pretty dark, something about waking up and cleaning a knife, maybe driving to Texas?
I know it’s a long shot, but has anyone come across anything like this? Even a hint would be awesome. I’ve been googling for hours with no luck. Thanks for any help you can give!
Could be from Mundaun. That game had some eerie folk music and distorted vocals. The setting matches too. Might be worth checking out if you haven’t already.
That song sounds wild! Reminds me of some of the creepy tunes from Layers of Fear or Observer. Those games love messing with audio to freak you out. Have you checked out any of Puppet Combo’s stuff? They do a lot of weird retro-style horror games that might fit the bill. Wish I could be more help, but hopefully someone else can nail it down for you.
Hmm, that’s a tricky one. Reminds me a bit of some of the creepy audio in Pony Island or The Hex. Those games love to mess with your head using weird sounds and music. Might be worth checking out Daniel Mullins’ stuff if you haven’t already.
Man, that song sounds super creepy. Kinda reminds me of some of the weird music in Silent Hill games. Have you looked into any of those atmospheric walking sims like What Remains of Edith Finch? They sometimes have odd audio stuff going on. Hope you find it!
