Seeking advice on my new game 'Parking Empire' - a satirical take on 1950s car culture

Hey everyone! I’m working on a new game called ‘Parking Empire’ and I’d love to get your thoughts. It’s kind of a tongue-in-cheek sim where you play as a big shot trying to make cities more car-dependent.

The idea came from those old 1950s propaganda films about the ‘wonders’ of car-centric urban planning. In the game, you’re aiming to maximize profits by pushing cars as the main mode of transport.

I’m wondering if this concept sounds interesting to you. What features do you think would make it fun and engaging? Any ideas for gameplay mechanics that could really drive home the satirical angle?

Also, I’m a bit worried about the tone. I want it to be humorous but not offensive. Any tips on walking that line? Thanks in advance for your input!

Sounds intriguing! Maybe add a ‘demolish public transport’ feature for extra satire points. Just don’t make it too real, or we might cry instead of laugh.

Parking Empire sounds pretty interesting! Could be fun to play as the bad guy for once. Maybe you could add some retro-style ads or propaganda posters in-game to really sell that 1950s vibe. Just make sure the gameplay is solid too, not just relying on the concept alone.

This game idea’s got potential. You could add a ‘smog meter’ that goes up as you build more roads and parking lots. Maybe have citizens complain about the air quality, but you gotta spin it as ‘progress’.

For mechanics, how about a mini-game where you lobby against public transit projects? Could be a fun way to show the absurdity of it all.

Just keep the humor obvious enough that people get it’s satire. Subtle might not work here.

Parking Empire definitely has potential. You could add a feature where players have to strategically remove bike lanes and pedestrian crossings. Making the consequences of car-centric planning visible in a humorous way could be both fun and thought-provoking.

That’s a cool concept! For gameplay, maybe add a ‘traffic jam simulator’ where players have to solve gridlock puzzles. Could be both funny and frustrating in a good way.
