Scary PC games: Hidden gems beyond the popular titles

Hey everyone! I just upgraded to a beefy gaming rig and I’m itching to dive into some spooky games. I’ve already played the big names like Soma, Outlast, Resident Evil, and Amnesia. Now I’m looking for some lesser-known horror titles that’ll really put my new PC through its paces. Any recommendations for indie or AAA horror games that might have slipped under my radar? I’m open to all kinds of horror - psychological, survival, jump scares, you name it. Bonus points if it has awesome graphics to show off my new setup! Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Visage is a hidden horror gem that’ll test your new rig. Creepy atmosphere, intense psychological scares, and some really impressive visuals. It’s like PT but a full game. Definitely worth checking out if you want something off the beaten path.

FAITH is a pixel art horror game that’s surprisingly creepy.

It’s got retro graphics but the atmosphere is intense.

Might not push your new PC, but it’s definitely an overlooked gem.

Man, you gotta try Layers of Fear. It’s not super new, but it’s a trippy psychological horror that’ll mess with your head. The visuals are insane, especially if you crank up the settings. It’s like walking through a haunted art gallery on acid. Definitely not as well-known as some of the big names, but it’ll give your new rig a workout for sure.

Ever tried Phasmophobia? It’s a co-op ghost hunting game that’s way scarier than it sounds. The graphics aren’t mind-blowing but the atmosphere is top-notch.

Darkwood is pretty intense if you’re into top-down horror. The atmosphere is super creepy and it’s got some unique mechanics. Not the most graphically demanding, but the art style is really effective at building tension.
