I wanted to mention something that could assist other players who are tackling Split Fiction with their partners. My wife had a hard time and felt upset during some boss battles, which was surprising since we managed to finish It Takes Two twice without any notable problems.
We found some useful options in the settings that made a big difference. Firstly, in the accessibility menu, you can adjust two important features:
Individual player difficulty setting - This allows each player to have reduced damage from enemies. When you select a lower difficulty, it significantly reduces the chances of dying in combat, making the experience much more enjoyable.
Option to skip to the next checkpoint - If you’re stuck on a part of the game, there’s a feature that lets you bypass to the next checkpoint. Checkpoints are close enough that you hardly miss any gameplay or storyline.
We only used the skip option once during a difficult jumping puzzle where I had my own struggles, and it was a lifesaver. The damage reduction feature, however, completely changed our combat experience, turning it from frustrating to fun.
I believe many players might not be aware of these handy features and could be giving up too soon. The developers seemed to have considered different player skill levels. Have others found these settings beneficial as well? I’d love to hear your experiences.
