Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for games that have a really cool feature. I want to find ones where the game world is alive and kicking, even when I’m not doing anything. You know, where all the characters are living their own lives and doing their own thing.
But here’s the catch: I don’t want it to be just surface level stuff. I’m talking about a game where the world is so well simulated that when I do something, it has a real impact. Like, I might do something and not even realize how it’s going to affect everything else.
I’ve tried Dwarf Fortress and Rimworld, but they weren’t really my cup of tea. I guess what I’m after is a game that has that deep world simulation, but is a bit easier to pick up and play. Something more casual, you know?
Anyone know of any games like that? I’d love to hear your suggestions!
I’d suggest Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim. You control the kingdom indirectly by setting rewards. NPCs have their own goals and react to threats. It’s pretty easy to get into and has that living world feel.
Man, I’ve been looking for games like that too. Kenshi might be worth checking out. It’s got this huge open world where NPCs are always doing their own thing. You can impact the world in cool ways, like taking over towns or changing the balance of power between factions. It’s not super casual, but it’s easier to get into than Dwarf Fortress for sure.
I’d throw Project Zomboid into the mix. The NPCs have their own survival goals and the world keeps changing even when you’re not around. It’s not super casual, but it’s easier to grasp than Dwarf Fortress. You can really see how your actions impact the world and other survivors.
Have you tried Stardew Valley? The NPCs have their own schedules and relationships that change over time. It’s pretty chill to play but still has that living world vibe. Your actions can affect how people feel about you and even change some events in the town.
