Looking for games with deep stories like the ones that really hit me emotionally

Hey everyone! So I just finished this amazing game and now I’m in that weird empty feeling phase where nothing else seems good enough. I need recommendations for games that really pull you into their world and make you care about what happens.

What I’m looking for are games with really good storytelling that makes you think and feel things. You know those games where you finish them and just sit there for a while thinking about everything that happened? I want characters that feel real and stories that stick with you for weeks after playing.

The games that have done this for me so far are pretty limited. I can only think of maybe two or three that really got to me on that level. One was that old JRPG about the summoner’s journey, and another was this airship adventure game that had such a hopeful vibe to it.

Anyone got suggestions for games that create that same kind of emotional connection? I’m open to any genre as long as the story and world building are top notch.

Outer Wilds broke me completely. That exploration and discovery feeling is unmatched.

NieR Automata’s a great pick. If you haven’t tried The Last of Us, you should check it out - that ending hit me hard. What Remains of Edith Finch is a shorter experience, but it packs an emotional punch. Red Dead Redemption 2 is another one that’ll really get to you with its character development.

Sounds like you played Final Fantasy X and Skies of Arcadia maybe? If you want something that’ll mess with your head emotionally, try NieR Automata. That game destroyed me.
