Looking for games with a gritty industrial dystopian atmosphere

Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for some new games to play and I’m really into that dark industrial dystopian vibe. You know, the kind with lots of concrete, factories, and a bleak future feel. I’ve been playing some stuff by Mike Klubnika and I’m loving that brutalist style. It doesn’t have to be exactly like his games, but something in that ballpark would be awesome. I’m open to different genres, but I tend to enjoy action and adventure games the most. Any suggestions? I’d love to hear about your favorite dystopian worlds to explore!

Frostpunk nails that gritty industrial vibe. Running a steampunk city in a frozen wasteland is intense. The atmosphere is super bleak and you really feel the struggle to survive. Definitely worth checking out if you’re into dystopian settings.

You gotta try Bioshock if you haven’t already. That game’s got industrial dystopia written all over it. The underwater city of Rapture is a perfect mix of art deco and decaying infrastructure. The atmosphere is super creepy and you never know what’s lurking around the next corner. It’s an older game but still holds up really well.

Metro Exodus hits that gritty dystopian feel hard. The ruined cities and industrial areas are super atmospheric. It’s not all concrete though, you get to explore some other environments too. The whole series is pretty solid if you’re into post-apocalyptic stuff.

Inside is a masterpiece of dystopian atmosphere.

The bleak industrial world and minimal color palette really nail that gritty vibe.

Puzzles and platforming keep it engaging too.

I’ve been hooked on Nier: Automata lately. It’s got that perfect blend of dystopian vibes and ruined cityscapes. The way nature’s reclaiming the concrete jungle is haunting.

Plus, the story really messes with your head in the best way. If you’re cool with some philosophical themes mixed in with your action, it’s definitely worth a shot.

Control’s got that vibe. Concrete brutalist architecture everywhere. Weird supernatural stuff happening in a shadowy government building. Really nails the oppressive atmosphere.

Dishonored series has that industrial dystopian vibe nailed down. Dunwall’s all grimy factories and plague-ridden streets. The steampunk tech mixed with supernatural powers is pretty sweet too. Gameplay’s a blast if you’re into stealth or going guns blazing.
