Is the latest Indiana Jones release signaling troubling trends for PC gamers?

I’m worried about where PC gaming might be heading. The new Indiana Jones game has some requirements that make me uneasy. It needs ray tracing to run, which isn’t too bad nowadays, but it’s still a big ask. What really bugs me is that it doesn’t work with AMD FSR because Nvidia sponsored the game. This means if you’ve got an AMD card that’s not top-of-the-line with loads of memory, your game will look and run way worse than it should. It feels like they’re pushing people towards specific hardware setups. I’m hoping this doesn’t become a common thing in PC gaming. What do you guys think? Are we heading towards a future where our hardware choices are more limited?

Eh, I wouldn’t worry too much. These exclusive tech deals pop up now and then, but they usually don’t last. PC gaming’s all about options, so I doubt we’ll be stuck with limited choices. Bet they’ll add FSR support eventually to sell more copies. It’s a bummer for now though.

I’ve seen this cycle before. Exclusive tech deals are annoying, but they rarely stick around long-term. PC gaming thrives on options and competition.

Give it time. Devs will probably add FSR support later to boost sales. And if they don’t, modders often step in with fixes.

It’s frustrating now, but I wouldn’t stress too much about the future of PC gaming over this.

Yeah, I’ve seen this kind of thing before. It’s annoying when games push specific hardware, but it usually doesn’t last. Give it some time and I bet they’ll add more support. PC gaming’s always been about options, so I doubt that’ll change too much.

I get the concern, but I wouldn’t panic just yet. This kind of thing has happened before in PC gaming. Remember PhysX? Or GameWorks? They were a big deal for a while, then faded away.

Sure, it sucks if you have an AMD card right now. But the market usually balances out these exclusives over time. Developers want to sell games, after all. They’ll probably add FSR support down the line.

It’s a tricky situation for sure. Exclusivity deals can limit options.

But PC gaming’s always had its ups and downs with hardware requirements.

Hopefully devs will keep supporting a range of setups long-term.

This does sound frustrating for AMD users.

But exclusives come and go in PC gaming.

I’d expect wider support to come eventually.

The modding community might even step in with fixes.
