I’ve been playing KCD for about 8 hours and I’m wondering if the early game is supposed to be this challenging. It feels like I’m just trying to survive day by day.
Here’s what I’ve been doing:
Searching for food and clothes
Looking for safe places to sleep
Getting into trouble (fines for sleeping outside, fights, etc.)
Trying to avoid bandits
Making questionable choices (drinking too much, eating spoiled food)
Is this how the game is supposed to start or am I doing something wrong? Even though it’s tough, I’m really enjoying the experience. It’s pretty realistic!
Anyone else have similar experiences when they first started playing? Any tips for a newbie?
Yeah, that’s pretty much how Kingdom Come starts out. It’s meant to be a tough survival experience at first. You’re just a regular guy in medieval times, so you gotta work your way up from nothing. It gets easier once you level up some skills and get better gear. Stick with it!
Kingdom Come nails that gritty medieval vibe. The start’s meant to be rough. I remember scavenging for scraps and running from fights constantly. It’s part of the charm though. You’ll get the hang of it and start feeling like a proper medieval hero soon enough.
That’s totally the intended experience. Kingdom Come doesn’t hold your hand at all in the beginning. I spent ages just trying not to starve or get killed by random bandits. It’s brutal but so satisfying when you start to get better gear and skills. Stick with it and you’ll be kicking ass in no time.
