Is multiplayer possible between legitimate and pirated copies of R.E.P.O.?

Hey everyone, I’m in a bit of a dilemma. Most of my friends got R.E.P.O. through unofficial means, but I’m thinking of buying it legit. I want to support the developers and I’m not really comfortable with the idea of pirating games since it’s a new experience for me. It’s pretty affordable, so I prefer buying the official copy.

The question is, can players with the official version play with those using pirated copies? I’ve seen different opinions on this and would really appreciate feedback from anyone who’s experienced this situation. Thanks for your help!

I’ve played R.E.P.O. and it’s pretty good. Multiplayer usually needs legit copies though. Maybe you could tell your friends how fun the official version is? They might want to buy it too if they hear you’re having a blast.

I wouldn’t risk it. Online play usually needs legit copies to work right.

Buying supports the devs and gives you access to updates and official servers.

Might be worth convincing your friends to get the real deal too.

Multiplayer between legit and pirated usually doesn’t work. Game servers check for real copies. Buying R.E.P.O. is probably the best bet if you want reliable online play.

Might be worth trying to get your friends on board with legit copies too.

Not sure about R.E.P.O. specifically, but usually official and pirated versions can’t play together. Multiplayer often needs matching game versions and legit accounts.

I get where you’re coming from. Usually, legit and pirated versions don’t play nice together online. Game servers often check for authentic copies.

If you can swing it, buying R.E.P.O. is the way to go. You’ll get updates, proper online support, and peace of mind. Maybe your friends will follow your lead if they see you enjoying the full experience.
