Never played Peak but yeah, most devs pull this when they need engagement numbers up. Either they’re launching something big or their player count tanked.
Casual messages definitely help connect with players. Makes companies feel less corporate and more human. I’m all for it if we get more updates and features!

I’ve gotten random messages from mobile game devs before - they’re usually just marketing disguised as friendly outreach. Hard to tell if yours is legit community building or another trick to get you playing again without seeing the actual message. That casual tone doesn’t mean much either way.
