Human Fall Flat License Error When Using Third-Party Online Fix

I got Human Fall Flat from a repack and installed an online multiplayer fix from the official site. After applying the crack files, I tried launching through Heroic launcher without steam runtime using Proton-GE-latest. The game shows a black screen that sometimes displays old TV static effects, but never actually starts.

I also added it to Steam and used Proton-Experimental to run it. Steam shows the game window with a black screen for about a minute, then displays Error launching the game: No Licenses.

My system specs:

  • CPU: Intel Core i3-7100
  • RAM: 8GB
  • GPU: Intel HD630 integrated graphics
  • OS: Arch Linux running Hyprland

I tested different compatibility layers like Wine, wine-ge, proton 9-26, and proton hotfix but none worked. The main issue is getting the base game to launch properly before I can even test the multiplayer functionality. Any suggestions for fixing this?

Sounds like your Intel HD630 might be struggling with the game. Human Fall Flat can be a bit demanding, so that could be part of the problem, especially with all the extra stuff running in the background.

Try running it with just Wine first - skip any launchers and see if it’s a compatibility issue.

That license error usually means the crack didn’t work right or some DRM is still running. Try deleting the game folder and reinstalling the repack. Make sure to copy all crack files to the right directory. Also, check if your multiplayer fix matches your game version since mismatched versions can cause this issue.
