Has 2024 been the absolute best year for survival horror with multiple perfect games released?

I can’t believe how incredible this year has been for survival horror fans like myself. We’ve gotten not just one or two amazing games, but literally four different titles that I would rate as perfect 10s.

I’m honestly blown away by the quality we’ve seen. Each game brought something unique to the table while still delivering those classic scares and tension we love. The atmosphere, gameplay mechanics, and storytelling across all these releases have been top notch.

It feels like developers really understood what makes survival horror work and delivered exactly what the community wanted. I’m curious if other people feel the same way about this year’s releases. Are we really living through a golden age of survival horror right now? What are your thoughts on the overall quality of games we’ve gotten?

Same here - what are those four titles? I played tons of games this year but only two actually got to me.

I’m curious about those four games too. This year had some solid releases, but none of them were perfect tens for me.

Which four games are you thinking of? Silent Hill 2 remake was solid, and a few others caught my eye, but I wouldn’t call it the best year ever. Maybe I’m getting pickier with age, but we’ve had stronger years. The remake did bring back good memories from the original though.
