Yeah I know everyone’s probably had a console forever but I just got my first one.
I’ve been gaming on PC my whole life. Never really bothered with consoles because everyone always said PC was way better for everything.
Mostly played competitive stuff like CSGO and Valorant with my buddies. But recently I wanted to try some chill single player games to just relax. Heard amazing things about games like RDR2 and Witcher 3 and figured I didn’t want to play them sitting at my computer desk. Wanted to game from my couch instead.
First I thought why not just hook up my PC to my big 4K TV? My RTX 2070 Super runs these games great anyway.
But man, using a PC as a console is such a pain. Even with Steam’s controller mode, there’s always some annoying popup or the controller disconnects randomly. Just kills the whole vibe.
So I finally decided to grab a PS5. Found a good deal and only paid around $150 after using some reward points.
Honestly the whole unboxing experience brought back so many memories. Something special about getting a brand new console.
Got PS Plus and tried out that Astro game first. The controller feedback is insane. Then jumped into God of War and Ghost of Tsushima. These games are just incredible and run so smooth.
What really got me is how easy everything is. Games load super fast from sleep mode and the console is basically silent even during heavy gaming. My PC sounds like a airplane taking off in comparison.
Still struggling with shooters since I’m so used to mouse and keyboard but getting better with the controller.
Really wish I tried console gaming sooner. Anyone else make a similar switch?
