As someone who spent countless hours with the original game, I’m excited but also worried about the sequel. Here’s what I think the developers should keep and what could use some tweaking.
Areas for enhancement:
- Physics system should remain delightfully unpredictable. Adding elements like air currents, pulleys, or destructible objects would be awesome, but keep that wonderful chaos we love.
- Character movement can be refined slightly while maintaining the wobbly, awkward feel. We need those clumsy moments, not realistic precision.
- Include more interactive elements like swinging chains, runaway carts, spinning machinery to create variety.
- Design larger, more creative environments that encourage exploration and experimentation rather than just straightforward puzzle solving.
Core elements to preserve:
- The awkward control scheme is essential. Making movements too responsive would kill the magic. The comedy comes from unexpected tumbles, missed grabs, and accidental player collisions.
- Keep it casual and stress-free. No scoring systems, countdown timers, or competitive pressure.
- Avoid lengthy narratives or unskippable sequences that interrupt gameplay flow.
- Maintain the distinctive art direction instead of switching to photorealistic graphics.
- Preserve multiplayer freedom where players can interfere with each other’s progress in funny ways.
Longevity suggestions:
- Built-in workshop support for user-generated content.
- Intuitive level editor for the community.
- Improved matchmaking for random online sessions.
