Does anyone else think Sims 4 seasons feel rushed and lack detail?

I’ve played Sims games for a long time, and I have a strong feeling about the seasons pack in Sims 4. Do you recall the stunning seasons in the previous games? Autumn had beautiful orange and yellow trees that looked truly realistic. Winter was amazing with actual snow accumulating on houses and yards, letting us see our Sims navigating through snowdrifts. Spring was vibrant with lovely flowers blooming, while summer exuded that perfect sunny atmosphere with fantastic beach areas.

In Sims 4, though, it feels like they didn’t put enough effort in. Winter appears to have just a simple white texture over everything, lacking real snow buildup that creates a cold and cozy vibe. The autumn trees shift colors, but it’s just that—no falling leaves or that warm autumn ambiance. Spring and summer hardly differ from regular gameplay.

To me, it seems like EA hurried this expansion pack, failing to dedicate the necessary time to make every season feel distinct and immersive like in the earlier games. Is anyone else feeling let down by how plain the seasons seem compared to previous Sims installments?

Totally agree, it feels like they missed the mark on making the seasons feel alive and dynamic.

Yeah, I feel you. The seasons just don’t have that charm anymore. It would be awesome to have weather effects that really change how the game feels, just like before.

This pack’s just a visual filter with zero actual seasonal mechanics. In Sims 2, I’d spend hours watching snow pile up while my Sims froze walking through it. Now they’ve painted everything white and called it winter. The weather effects are boring as hell compared to what we used to get.
