I’ve been watching Riona try to play some horror games lately, and I can’t help but feel a bit bad for her. She seems to get really freaked out and has a tough time handling even the mildest scares. It’s kind of endearing but also makes me wonder if she should avoid the genre altogether.
Has anyone else noticed this? Do you think some people just aren’t cut out for horror games, or should Riona keep trying to build up her tolerance? I’m curious to hear what others think about this.
Maybe we could suggest some less intense spooky games for her to try instead? What do you all think would be a good starting point for someone who gets easily scared but still wants to dip their toes into the horror genre?
I’ve been there too. Horror games can be rough at first. Riona might like story-driven ones like SOMA or Layers of Fear. They’re creepy but not constant jump scares. It’s all about finding the right balance.
I hear ya. Some folks just aren’t wired for horror games. What about trying something like Stardew Valley? Totally not scary, but still has those spooky mines to explore. Baby steps, right?
Horror games definitely aren’t for everyone. I used to get super freaked out too. Starting with something like Limbo or Inside could be good. They’re creepy but not too intense. Or even go old school with stuff like Resident Evil 4 - it’s more action than pure horror these days.
I get where Riona’s coming from. Horror games can be intense. Maybe she could try something like Oxenfree or Little Nightmares? They’re creepy but not too scary. It’s cool she wants to try the genre though.
